THIRD FLOOR RENOVATION PACKARD BLDG. RENOVATION
PLANS FOR THE PACKARD BUILDING RENOVATION
State Parks purchased the Packard Building in accordance with its General Plan. When completed, this will enable the Foundation to exhibit and offer educational programs related to the 14 governors who have lived in the mansion along with a comprehensive look at what was also occurring in California during their term of service. All of the historic items from the mansion were collected and cataloged, allowing for State Parks and the foundation to offer rotating exhibits.
The Center will also house a museum store, restaurant or café… a perfect location for receptions, meetings, and community events. Income from the facility rental, gift shop and food sales will enable the foundation to set up an endowment fund covering some of the costs of developing ongoing exhibits, staff and maintenance.
